New 3DS Shifts In Excess Of 230k Units In Japan Over First Weekend

Famitsu has reported that the New 3DS and New 3DS LL have sold a combined 233,483 units in Japan. The sales numbers for both of the new iterations of the 3DS can be seen below:

N3DS: 61,151
N3DS LL:172,332

The 3DS came with bundled with faceplates, while the 3DS LL came bundled with the much anticipated Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

The new handhelds are toted to be major upgrades to the original, with stronger computing power, better 3D viewing from an angle, new shoulder buttons, changeable faceplates, and a new c-stick a la Gamecube on the right side above the buttons. Games exclusive to this new version of 3DS will be released, the first of which will be a sport of Wii’s Xenosaga Chronicles in 2015, though currently no others have been announced.

New 3DS is slated to launch in Australia on November 21st, with still no word yet on when this hot upgrade to the 3DS will receive its Western debut.
