Ravenswatch Kintaro Hero DLC and Free Update Are Live Now

Contents

Passtech Games has released the Kintaro Hero DLC for Ravenswatch alongside a free update, both live now on every platform as version 1.06. The paid DLC adds Kintaro, a hero from Japanese folklore who fights mounted on his bear Kuma or on foot beside him, for $7.99 / 7.99 euro / 6.49 pounds.

Updated: October 13, 2026.

Kintaro and Kuma: two stances, eight abilities

The hero and his bear share a dual gameplay style built on two stances that give the pair eight abilities in total. On a controller, players steer Kuma with the right joystick. On keyboard and mouse, they point with the mouse and press A.

Stance Attack Power Special Defense
Mounted Claw Swipes Charge Leap Roar
Dismounted Axe Whirl and Pound Double Leap Roar and Shout

Players can stay mounted for a fierce, brutal fight against the Nightmares, or dismount and fight side by side with the bear. Passtech describes Kintaro as the Golden boy, a legendary hero straight from Japanese folklore.

What the paid DLC includes

The Kintaro Hero DLC adds 2 Ultimate abilities, 26 unlockable Talents, 7 fully voiced pages of Kintaro’s Memoirs, 4 unlockable Outfits (Explorer, Signature, Master, Hidden), 3 premium Outfits (Raven, Nightmare, Royal Counselor), and 3 new achievements on Steam only.

The free update: Talents rework and Custom Lobbies

The free update reaches every Ravenswatch player. Passtech reworked more than 50 Talents, tweaked, buffed, or replaced across the roster, and added Custom Lobbies with a slider to pick 2, 3, or 4 players. Matchmaking now pairs you only with players who chose the same setting. A new option shows teammates’ pings, and the Godmother Melody now appears in every chapter instead of only Avalon.

The rework favors talents that build power over cooldown resets. Scarlet loses her Short Wick and Reload talents for new ones, Beowulf’s Battle Cry now speeds up nearby heroes instead of resetting POWER, and Snow Queen’s SPECIAL builds get damage buffs across the board.

Juliet’s base HP drops from 100 to 90, Volcanic Shots now costs 3 AMMO instead of 1, and Lucky Shot’s trigger chance falls from 6/8/10/12% to 4/5/6/7%. Passtech describes Juliet as its most successful character and says the changes are meant to restore technical depth.

Because of the scale of the changes, any run in progress was discarded when the update landed. Existing player progress was not affected, and Passtech recommends finishing a run before updating. The studio also shared a launch trailer alongside the announcement.

Known issues to watch

On Xbox, Romeo & Juliet and Merlin have locked Talents because of a backend error, and Passtech says a fix is waiting on Microsoft’s approval. Scarlet’s Signature and Hidden Outfits also cannot be unlocked for now.

Official announcement and patch notes

Passtech published the Kintaro launch announcement and the full version 1.06 patch notes on Steam. Astral Ascent, another action roguelike, recently shipped its own October patch, adding a crossover room and several co-op gameplay fixes.
