We are going to share the features and performance of two of the amazing phones by the biggest Smartphone manufacturing giants- HTC Desire 601 and Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.
HTC Desire 601
Launched in the third quarter of 2013, it has proved to one of the most preferable model in HTC’s Desire Series.
Design and Display
The front of the HTC Desire 601 houses a 4.5 inch TFT screen of 540*960 pixel resolution and 245 ppi density. The front is silver plastic and the rear panel is removable with removable battery. It is available in three variant colors- white, black and red. The phone feels good in the palm and is designed to be ideal for one hand operation. Screen quality is good with solid contrast to give sharp and crisp images.
Specifications, Camera and Battery
It is powered by 1.4 GHz dual core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. It is available preloaded with android 4.2.2 which is upgradable to 4.4.2 KitKat. The phone features the latest version of HTC sense. It is fitted with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and VGA front camera for video calling. Overall performance of the phone is good when tested for multitasking and browsing websites. The battery size is good (2100mAh) to give a talk time of about 12 hours.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo
Grand Neo is the successor to Galaxy Grand with very similar features.
Design and Display
The handset feels a little bulky (widely spread 143.7 * 77.1*9.6mm) and heavy (163g) when compared with other 5 inch smart phones. The back cover is easily removable which grants access to the mini SIM slot along with the removable 2100 mAh battery. It houses a 5inch screen with very low resolution and ppi density (the screen quality is not good at all). The buttons follow the same pattern followed by other Samsung phones- power button on the right and volume rocker on the left with audio jack on the top and usb mini charging slot at the bottom.
Specifications, Camera and Battery
It is powered by 1.2 GHz quad core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The smartphone comes preloaded with android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The only difference between 601 and Neo is the dual core processor versus the quad core processor. The specs are pretty basic and the screen quality is not very good as compared to other 5 inch smart phones available at the same price. The rear camera is 5 MP which is very average. The 2100 mAh battery gives a talk time of 11 hours.
Overall
We were very happy with the performance of HTC Desire 601 as compared to Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo in all aspects of smart phone and have no qualms in recommending it to our readers.
