Asus for many years has come up with exceptional laptops and computers. Based on this success, the company also decided to venture actively into the smartphones and tablets market with a number of devices such as the Asus ZenFone 6. To understand this phone, it is important to compare it with another superb phone like HTC Desire 816.
Design
The Asus being a 6 inch phone measures 6.57 x 3.32 by 0.39 inches while the HTC is 6.17 x 3.10 x 0.31 inches. There is little difference in design and size although HTC Desire 816 is 31 grams lighter than the Asus at 165 grams.
Display
As mentioned before, Asus ZenFone 6 has a 6 inch IPS LCD screen while the Desire 816 comes with a 5.5 inch S-LCD 2 screen. Both screens have the same resolution with a slight variation in pixel density. That of the HTC Desire 816 is 267 ppi while Asus’ screen has a decent 245 ppi.
Camera
This is one feature where both phones are almost similar. They both sport 13 MP rear cameras that can take HD videos. Both cameras are also equipped with LED flashes and also packed with many other features such HDR, image stabilization and autofocus. HTC went ahead and also made it possible for the user to take pictures while recording videos. Front facing camera wise, HTC still gets the upper hand given its 5 MP camera compared to Asus’ 2 MP.
Hardware and Operating System
Although both phones run on Android, they have different versions. HTC has version 4.4.2, KitKat while Asus ZenFone 6 comes with version 4.3, Jellybean. This HTC has a 1600 MHz quad core processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset whereas the Asus comes with a 2000 MHz dual core processor with an Intel atom chipset. Other than just having a slower processor, the Asus also comes with lesser RAM at 1.5 GB compared to HTC’s 2 GB.
Battery
These two phones have significantly large batteries. Asus has a 3300mAh battery that has a talk time of about 28 hours while the HTC’s battery has a capacity of 2600 mAh.
Verdict
Asus ZenFone 6 may have a larger screen and battery, but it is still not as powerful as the HTC. Therefore, HTC Desire 816 is the best buy.
