Movies are often adapted into video games, especially when we’re talking about movies based on comic book characters. Spidey isn’t an exception, and with the upcoming release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie, we’re also getting a sequel to the initial The Amazing Spider-Man game. To celebrate both launches, GameStop is holding a limited special offer sale, and those who purchase The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game on the 29th of April will get free tickets to the premiere of the movie. That’s not a bad deal at all. Unfortunately, ticket numbers are limited and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you’re planning on picking the game up, you’d best be ready to do it fast. Buying the game on the 29th of April will also net players the Web Threads Suit Pack, a collection of 4 unique Spidey outfits.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game is the first Spider-Man game to come out for new generation consoles. Unfortunately, things aren’t going exactly smoothly for Microsoft Xbox One owners, as there seem to be hiccups with the game’s launch on the console. Some retailers have recently canceled the sale of Xbox One versions, and there’s a chance The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Xbox One version will get delayed indefinitely. This is likely to be a cause of publishing conflicts involving Activision. There haven’t been signs of problems regarding the Xbox 360 version so far though. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will also be launching for the PS3, PS4 and PC.
That being said, the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie is still set for a May 2nd release, and that’s not going to change. Andrew Garfield will be reprising his role as Spider-Man, and the actor has already been confirmed to be returning for a The Amazing Spider-Man 3 movie, which would suggest that we’ll be seeing an The Amazing Spider-Man 3 game too. Are you planning on picking up the game, or are you sticking with just the movie? Or perhaps neither? Let us know
