There are many types of software security products available to consumers to keep their system secure from threats. Many of these will include antivirus protection. One thing to keep in mind is the need for up-to-date anti-spyware scanning and proper detection of ongoing security threats. Two programs that offer users a variety of features are BullGuard Antivirus 2014 and TrustPort Antivirus.
BullGuard Antivirus
This program includes various tools to detect and clean all types of viruses, worms, rookits, Trojans, a variety of worms and spyware. The program will actively scan a user’s hard disk and memory for virus signatures. Another feature of this program is filtering spam coming through email. One benefit of BullGuard Anti-Virus is, it checks for new updates every two hours. There is also an anti-phishing module that gives users extra protection when surfing the Internet.
There is an interface that is well-designed and user friendly. All users should find the program easy to use with graphics in red and white colors. The main menu will include options for Support, Antivirus, and Spam Filter. Once a scan is completed, then any problem areas will be displayed in a chart. Security is the main focus of this program. Early detection of threats is achieved by the behavioral detection feature within the program. The identification of viruses is heightened as any newer virus signatures will not yet be included in the program’s database.
TrustPort Antivirus
This program has been designed to protect a user’s system from all types of threats. The program does this by using two scanning engines to detect virus threats. However, the program will also detect basic threats that come from spyware and malware. This includes worms, Trojans, and rootkits that can have negative consequences on a user’s system.
One interesting aspect of this program is on-demand and on-access scanning. The on-access process is started when a program is started or a file is accessed. On-demand scanning is a manual process which can be done for specific files and folders. There is also a heuristic analysis which is able to find if a threat may be a new variant of malware or an attempt to hide on a user’s system. The program also allows any user to schedule scans when their system is not being used.
Both of these programs have features that will benefit a user. However, there are many features that are included with BullGuard Antivirus 2014 that will make it a better option than TrustPort Antivirus.
