More than a few gamers aren’t satisfied to just sit at home and play games all day every day. Many of those said gamers want to push into the industry itself and add their technical and creative skills to the many people making our games, both AAA and indie alike. If you are one of these people, and especially if you are a big fan of SCE Santa Monica Studios contribution to the God of War series you may want to get yourself to University of California, Los Angeles. There two developers from the studio will be sharing their knowledge and skill sets with those willing to learn.

Marianne Krawcyzk and and Whitney Wade are both instrumental figures in the creation of Kratos and the rest of the God of War universe. Krawcyzk has been lead writer across several of the lead games as well as overseeing and contributing to affiliate projects like books and computer games. Her work lead to her winning both a BAFTA and a Writers Guild award. Wade grew with SCE Santa Monica progressing from associate producer to leading the entire production through her work on God of War.

The two will be offering insights on the industry including ground floor production, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing and fleshing out ideas. By the end of the course students will have created their very own greenlight game proposal as well as acquired a multitude of skills crucial for understanding and succeeding in the games industry.

While there are many video game causes spread over the USA and Europe it is rare that students get the opportunity to learn and interact with figures from such large success stories as the creators behind God of War.

The course will be 10 weeks long and take place each Tuesday evening from 7.oopm to 10.oopm. The classes commence on September 30th this year and the cost is $1,500 to enrol.
