Microsoft has announced the free-to-play multiplayer action title; Happy Wars, will be making its way towards Xbox One eventually, however no release date was mentioned. The game was originally released in 2012 exclusively to the Xbox LIVE Arcade, eventually being made available through Steam as part of the Early Access scheme.
Cross-platform support will be available in the Xbox One version as well as four-player local multiplayer with split screen settings. There is to be new characters and new gameplay, although no further details have yet been given. Whilst there is a short single player campaign, the main focus here is the game’s multiplayer, which is a combination of strategy, RPG, and action. Two teams of players up to 15 must destroy each other’s castle, whilst defending their own, promoting both aggressive and defensive gameplay.
In the original release, players are able to choose from a total of three classes including cleric, warrior, and mage – each wielding their own unique traits and abilities to utilize on the battlefield. Additional abilities are made available through leveling up – the current level cap is 60. Since Happy Wars was released, updates have continuously been added, mainly through the use of seasonal events and such.
