Online retailer Amazon may have leaked a massive story spoiler for developer Rocksteady Studios’ upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight.
Videogamer initially spotted that Amazon’s Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition statue contained a message that hints at a crucial event that occurs in the story. (For the sake of spoilers, head over to Videogamer’s article to find out what the message said.)
Amazon, however, has removed the original image since the article was published, with the Batman statue’s new plaque reading “The Gotham Knight.”
Rocksteady has already confirmed that Arkham Knight, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham City, serves as the finale for the highly regarded Arkham franchise.
Fans of the series were offered a sneak preview at what to expect in Arkham Knight with the release of the Ace Chemicals Infiltration videos in 2014 — three separate trailers (check them out here, here and here) that focused on Batman’s attempt to stop the Arkham Knight and Scarecrow.
Gaz Deaves, social marketing manager for Rocksteady Studios, held an AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) session on Reddit last year and revealed some of the new mechanics that are integrated in Arkham Knight.
Amazon’s Arkham Knight Limited Edition, which is different from the one that retailer GAME has on sale, consists of a SteelBook case, artbook, comic book, statue and character skins pack.
Batman: Arkham Knight will launch worldwide on June 2nd, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
