Respawn’s Anti-Cheat team shared a first-week update for EA Javelin Anticheat on October 8. The post, titled “An Update from the Anti Cheat Team – 10/08/2026,” was published on the official Apex Legends news channel on Steam community announcements. It reports 265,550 cheat attempts prevented in Apex Legends before those attempts could impact gameplay.

The report covers the period after Apex Legends switched to EA Javelin Anticheat on September 29. When EA Javelin Anticheat went live, Respawn flagged matchmaking issues. The new first-week update reviews cheat prevention totals, account bans, tracked cheat programs, and hardware cheat bans.

According to Respawn, the move to Javelin gives the Anti-Cheat team greater visibility into threats and more flexibility to respond as new cheats emerge. Javelin blocks unauthorized software and cheating attempts before they function, and it also identifies and bans cheaters. A successful prevention does not always result in a ban, by design, because Javelin can stop some unauthorized software before a cheat attempt completes.

Week 1 Prevention and Account Ban Data from Respawn

Respawn reported 12,969 accounts banned during the first week. The Anti-Cheat team also tracked 40 cheat programs, and 91% of those tracked cheat programs were disrupted. The totals represent activity identified and actioned by the Anti-Cheat systems during the period.

Hardware Cheat Bans from the Last Week in Apex Legends

Hardware cheat bans from the last week included 4,058 for Aimzenix and 1,201 for Cronus. Respawn also listed 141 bans for Titan and 199 bans for XIM. Aimzenix had the highest total among the four listed hardware cheat categories. Respawn said it cannot share a full breakdown of every ban, but it highlighted hardware cheating wins from the last week.

What Comes Next for PC and Console Players

The Anti-Cheat team is actively investigating videos circulating that show egregious cheating activity, with more to share soon. Javelin is a PC system, so this update focuses on PC. Respawn said it will continue to monitor these trends as cheat developers adapt and new threats emerge. The Anti-Cheat team says important updates for console players are coming in the coming weeks.
