Fallout 76 Season 1 is scheduled to drop in under five days from now. The fated date is the 30th of June, which comes down to next Tuesday, of all days, but regardless, we have a brand-new change log to report on! And it’s a decent read, at that, so long as you aren’t one of those few Fallout 76 players expecting Bethesda to suddenly change its mind regarding the kind of game it’s making here. Or, better said: the kind of game-as-a-service it is maintaining here.
As the answer to both of those is: the kind that goes “brrr” due to all the money it’s printing. Gone are the days of Black Isle Entertainment and the Fallout Bible, asthe new wasteland isn’t nuclear but simply a byproduct of late-stage capitalism. Guess who is on the “getting paid” side in this new reality?
Erm, not you, of course. In all seriousness, Fallout 76 Season 1 (dropping as part of game Update 20, just to check whether you’re even paying attention to these meticulously crafted sentences) will offer a plethora of content and even more Legendary items to grind toward. If that’s your thing, naturally. Because while war never changes, there’s like some secret bingo going on with billion-dollar gaming franchises.
So, only time will tell what’s next for Fallout but our wallets will definitely pay for that mysterious package – several times over, if needed.
