Rockstar officially announced Wednesday what features we can expect in the spring and summer updates to the breakaway hit Grand Theft Auto V.
The three major updates are the addition of the Capture Creator, the High Life Update and the integration of heists into its online mode.
The Capture Creator will allow players to create capture jobs and add them to the massive bank of user-generated missions. The mode will allow the creator the freedom to place as many weapons, obstacles and items within the job as he or she desires. This update is set to release next week.
The High Life Update offers a number of expensive goodies to players, as well as a few overall gameplay tweaks. Players will be able to purchase several new luxury apartments, new clothes, new vehicles, and a new rifle. The update will also give players the ability to own two pieces of property instead of just one. Finally, the Mental State player attribute will be added to the game. This stat gauges how crazy your character is. There was no timetable given on this update.
Rockstar also plans to integrate online heists into the game by the end of the spring. This feature has been extremely sought after and was originally believed to be a part of Grand Theft Auto V Online’s launch package. The mode will allow players to team up for very difficult and complex group missions. No other information was given on the mode.
Rockstar also added this juicy tidbit at the end of its statement: “And later this year, look for even more additions to both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, including more holiday-themed updates, some very exciting Story Mode DLC and much more.” Christmas DLC? We will have to wait and see.
On a related note, Sony also listed a PS Vita version of the popular iFruit app. The app can be downloaded for free here. IFruit allows players to customize their cars, keep their faithful dog well-trained and stay current on the latest Grand Theft Auto V and Rockstar news.
