In the first tutorial of our series GTA 5 Online Tips & Cheats we decided to help those of you out, who weren’t ready to join the multiplayer version of Los Santos. And if you still don’t feel like it, believe us, once you read our tutorial – you will!
It is massively multiplayer online, but it is not?!
Those of you who aren’t aware, GTA Online is the massively multiplayer online version of GTA 5. However, you are given the chance to play with only 15 other people at any given time. The gameplay is pretty much the same as the single player, as you are free to roam around and perform stupid stunts, kill pedestrians or drive slowly while you follow the rules. The two main options at your disposal are to develop your online avatar, while playing solo or by joining other. But be careful, once you enter a game, it is a fair world for everyone and even though there are measures to discourage players from constantly killing each other, the true reality is that whenever someone wants to shoot you in the head, they will do it.
Gather your friends, befriend your enemies!
If you want to receive the best experience GTA 5 Online has to offer you need to have friends to work with. It may not sound as a helpful tip, but if you invite people to join your cause, you will be able to lead a happier life and not constantly fear for your life or waste money and time fighting the others. Moreover group activities are generating 20% more rep than solo runs.
Check the mini map often!
As you probably are aware white dots on the map are other players. If you notice that someone is approaching you at a fast speed, brace yourself for a fight. Someone might just be running from the police, or driving around to perform crazy stunts, but there are people, much like in DayZ, whose only joy is to kill other players.
Cars, cars and more cars!
Steal a car, but don’t steal the first one you see. In the online version of Los Santos, premium cars can only be found at a later time in the game. Be sure to find something comfy, that you can get around with, until you are able to purchase a better car.
Once you rich $2,000 you can either buy a tracker for your car or wait until you have money to purchase a different one. Whenever you want to mark a car as your own and be able to recover it, if it goes missing, you should buy a tracker. In order to do so, simply go to the Los Santos Customs and at the Loss/Theft Prevention tab buy a Tracker. Insurance would also be a nice choice, as there are players who just want to mess around and destroy your vehicle in various ways.
Every ‘gangsta’ needs a weapon!
In the massively multiplayer world of GTA 5 online you will be in a dire need of a gun. If you can’t find one lying around somewhere, be sure that you collect your money in a nice little piggy bank and open it only once you have enough to buy the gun you use the most in the single player game.
