Helldivers 2’s next Premium Warbond, Ironclad Democracy, launches on Tuesday, September 22, Arrowhead Game Studios announced on PlayStation.Blog. The Warbond arms Helldivers with new weapons, throwables, armor, capes and boosters. In the announcement, Mitchell Ayre of Arrowhead Game Studios describes the update as “Explosive. Decisive. Definitive.”
New Weapons and Throwables
The AR-11 Arbitrator is a primary assault rifle whose electrical firing mechanism releases caseless ammunition rounds in rapid succession, while an underslung shotgun adds battlefield variety. The GL-15 Evictor is a primary pump-action grenade launcher that trades precision for devastating area-of-effect capabilities; its manual single-round reload makes it a methodical choice for squads. As a secondary, the P-34 Breacher is a punishing missile pistol that burns through armor with sticky phosphorous-fueled projectiles loaded with an explosive payoff.
Two new throwables join the fight. The G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker is a smart grenade delivery drone with a high-yield payload especially effective against armored vehicles; it tracks the user’s movements before homing in on nearby enemies and exploding on impact. The G-8 Immolation sacrifices the boom for a blanket of fire to engulf targets.
Armor, Capes and Boosters
The Warbond adds two armor sets. The BFM-16 Tanker Light Armor is inspired by the legendary armored cavalry of the First Galactic War and features integrated acoustic dampeners. The BFM-220 Ironclad Heavy Armor is forged from surplus hull plating and includes an integrated servo-bracing system and a towering blast-shield collar. Both share the Blunt-Force Mitigation passive, which makes Helldivers more resistant to being knocked off their feet and reduces impact and collision damage by 30%, while providing a higher armor rating.
Capes include the Standard of Rapid Evacuation and the Shroud of The Juggernaut, whose shattered woodland pattern conceals a classified, morale-boosting message in Morse code. The Integrated Extinguishers booster reduces the time to extinguish flames if teammates are accidentally set ablaze. The Surplus EAT Allocation booster grants two free uses of the Expendable Anti-Tank Stratagem per mission – enough for a full squad to each receive a single-use rocket launcher.
Premium Warbond Firsts and Availability
For the first time in a Premium Warbond, Tank Exclusive Patterns are included: Verdant camouflage, Glacial polymer, and Executive onyx. The Warbond also adds the Helmet Durability Check emote, Player Cards for the Standard of Rapid Evacuation and Shroud of The Juggernaut, and the Title “Treadhead.” The Ironclad Democracy Warbond requires the base game, Super Credits and game progression to unlock.
