The Nokia Lumia Icon comes only in black and white, which, while professional looking, isn’t particularly fitting with the phone’s colorful display. Further adding to the straight-laced professional appearance is the straight, flat sides and squared-off edges, unlike many of its competitors. Screen
The Lumia Icon’s screen is one of its top selling points, and for good reason. Its 1080p, 5-inch, HD AMOLED display allows for stunning, clear visuals, and all of this coupled with a 441 ppi pixel density with vivid colors and brightness provides an easy-to-see display and the ability to take and view high quality pictures and videos.
Camera
Though lacking in comparison to some of Lumia’s earlier models, there’s no doubt the Lumia Icon’s outstanding 20 megapixel camera is more than good enough to fulfill the photography needs of most buyers. In addition to the (literal) high quality of the camera and the images taken, the Lumia Icon’s camera app is superb in its own right, allowing the adjustment of settings like exposure and shutter speed right in the midst of picture taking.
Battery Life
With a 2420 mAh battery allowing for 432 hours of standby time, 75 hours of music time, and 16.3 hours of 3G talking time, the Lumia Icon has a stellar battery life. Worth mentioning, however, is that the phone’s design does not allow for a removable battery.
Pricing
Unfortunately, a phone with a heap of great features also costs a heap of money: $599.99, without contract. If you’re hoping to buy the phone with a carrier contract, bear in mind that the phone is Verizon-exclusive.
In Conclusion
With an absolutely fantastic display, stable performance, great camera, and a good battery life, the Nokia Lumia Icon is definitely a good buy–as long as you don’t mind the bulk or the price, of course.
