Samsung came up with two LTE phones in 2014. One of them (Grand 2) was released earlier while Core Lite was brought in the market later in the second quarter of the year. These two phones are of the exact same price range. It would be interesting to check out which one has better features.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

It not only has up to 4G connection, you also get an option of Dual SIM input. This latest Android model was released in January 2014.

Design & Display

The display is fine with a 280 pixel per inch resolution on its 5.25 inch screen. The screen is quite large for average phones; it might make single handed operation a little difficult; but nonetheless it has ample brightness. The screen is TFT capacitive along with 16M colors.

Specifications, Camera & Battery

It has got an 8 GB internal memory slot with up to 64 GB expandable option. It also has 1.5 GB RAM function. It has Snapdragon 400 chipset and Quad core processor to enable a high packed performance. It has a 1.9 MP secondary camera along with 8 MP fully equipped primary camera. The Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery has an endurance rating of 45h.

Samsung Galaxy Core Lite LTE

This phone does not have Dual SIM unlike the Grand 2, but it does support 4G connectivity. It was released in June 2014, therefore it is a more recent phone and we can expect that it will outrun its predecessor in terms of features. Let us see if that is the case.

Design & Display

The display features are almost the same as Grand 2 apart from the 4.7 inch screen which this phone sports. It also has a much lower resolution compared to Grand 2. A 299 pixels per inch on the TFT screen can be found here.

Specifications, Camera & Battery

This phone lacks a secondary camera but has a 5 MP primary camera. The Android OS JellyBean in this phone is not upgradable unlike Grand 2. It has a limited 4G running capacity compared to Grand 2. It also sports a 1 GB RAM to go with its Quad core processor. Grand 2 is available in black, white and Pink, while this one is available only in black and white colors.

Overall

As evident from the above comparison, Grand 2 is the better phone among the two. Core Lite LTE even though released later, did not succeed in outrunning its predecessor. Since these two phones are of the same price range, you should naturally go only for Grand 2 as overall it’s the better of the two.
