According to a number of posts by a CD Projekt RED insider, Anaxymenes, on a NeoGAF thread showcasing new screenshots of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game has been experiencing a host of development issues for a significant amount of time.
Anaxymenes even went so far as to say that the development team at CD Projekt has been in “crazy crunch time for over a year now.”
Read more details on the supposed issues plaguing The Witcher 3‘s development after the break.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Development Issues
You can read Anaxymenes’ NeoGAF posts regarding The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt below (I’ve boldfaced certain passages that may be of interest):
“It looks like many gaffers are painting CDP as some magical dev studio with only the best of interests of the gamers in mind. Trust me they are not.”
“The bullshitting with The Witcher 3 started from day 1. PR is creating an overblown vision of a game that doesn’t exist while the team is in crazy crunch time for over a year now. There’s some bad shit going on that if GAF knew GAF would not like.”
“Well in the end, it’s my words vs CDP PR. I mean, why should you believe me if I have no solid evidence to show? But that’s kind of my point, CDP built a very good relationship with gamers, and now it’s paying off, as opposed to, say EA.”
“I do have inside knowledge, I did have contact with the game, but again NDA and such, plus I’m just a dude on the internet. My only point is that GAF should take everything CDP says with a grain of salt.”
“EDIT: Just to some up my messy line of thinking – don’t pre-order tha game (especially on consoles), wait for the reviews, then decide. Or don’t pay attention to a random dude on the internet, and do what you want with your money.”
For those wondering whether or not Anaxymenes is actually a CD Projekt insider, an administrator on NeoGAF stated:
“Good morning, Anaxymenes has been vetted and cleared. Thanks.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is CD Projekt RED’s upcoming entry into the critically acclaimed Witcher series. It is an open-world, action role-playing game that places players into the blood-soaked shoes of Geralt of Rivia. The open-world environment is said to be 30 times larger than previous Witcher games, and 20% bigger than the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The game is also touted as having a dynamic day and night system, responsive environments, and realistic AI, among many other features.CD Projekt has stated that the players will need to invest at least 100 hours into the game to achieve 100% completion.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to release on February 24th, 2015 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
