Valve adds a new ‘direct refund’ option to Steam pre-orders

Have you ever been excited about a game, pre-order it and only a few days later realize it was actually not what you were looking for, yet the pre-order just stays there and reminds you of your mistake? Well, Steam has got you covered!

As of earlier this week, every user can manually cancel their pre-order without any additional hesitation. Although the change was not officially announced, it was noticed by Steam users who believe that Valve is once again going ‘in the right direction.’ A detailed post on ValveTime reveals that after you click the ‘refund an item’ button that will appear on your pre-orders, the game will be removed from their Steam Library and the funds will go directly into their Steam Wallet.

Everyone that would not like a Steam Wallet deposit, but rather receive a full refund could cancel their pre-order via the old method – contacting the Steam Support.
