Activision and Infinity Ward have split the DMZ intel for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 into two blogs. Part 1, titled Tour of Duty: Hajin Environments and Threats, Full Intel Guide, is available now. Part 2, Tour of Duty: Forward Operating Base (FOB) Full Intel Guide, arrives later this week.

The post also points to a video with gameplay footage and interviews, and teases more video intel through the week.

Hajin Environments and Threats

The previous DMZ overview described the mode as Call of Duty’s definitive extraction shooter, a persistent open-world combat environment where players loot, complete objectives, fight enemies and rival Operators, and try to extract with rewards.

Hajin’s enemies belong to a secretive North Korean faction. Enemy types include four tiers of North Korean soldiers (Grunts, Armored, Armored Gas Masked, Faceless Armored), Autonomous Combat Drone Swarm, Autonomous LMG Combat Drone, Autonomous Quadrupeds (K9), Attack Infantry Helicopter Patrols, and Road Convoys. Bosses include Lieutenants and Commanders named Colossus, Deathstalker, and the Main NK Battle Tank.

Every Point of Interest has a Threat level shown under the compass in the HUD, ranging from Low to Extreme. Higher threat means more dangerous and more numerous enemies. Human Operators are not included in the Threat indicator. Stealth eliminations (melee, throwing knives, suppressed shots) help move through higher-threat areas unnoticed.

Forward Operating Base and Progression

The Forward Operating Base (FOB) is the command center. Immediately accessible stations are Operators (Active Duty), Stash/Loadout, DMZ Orders, Firing Range, and Survival Kits. As players complete Operations across Hajin, they unlock more stations: 3D Printer, Gunsmith, Vendor, Bounty Leaderboard, Boss Board, Dog Tag Case, and DMZ Progression. The Deploy station, a heavy-lift military transport helicopter, starts each deployment. DMZ Player Level runs from Level 1 to 70.

Vehicles can be commandeered across land, sea, and air and need repair and refueling at Gas Stations, unlike Call of Duty: Warzone vehicles. Ground vehicles include Camper, Sedan, Grizzly, Dreadnought (an Aston Martin tactical SUV), Polaris Dagor A1, LTV, Cargo Truck, and D50 Radar Flatbed. Rail includes an automated Train and a Tram. Water includes the RHIB. Air includes the Heli, Heavy Chopper, and the Monarch exfil helicopter.

After Action Report and Next Intel

The After Action Report has four sections: Report (item and resource breakdown), Rating (F to S++ based on Objectives, Combat, and Looting), Totals, and Level. The Dog Tag has 18 levels, from Steel to Onyx III.

Part 2 of the DMZ intel for Modern Warfare 4 will arrive later this week and will cover 3D Printer crafting, Bounties, Weapon acquisition, Stashes and Loadouts, Active Duty Operators, DMZ Operator Prestiging, Permanent Prestige Traits, and DMZ Player Progression to Level 70.
