Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 releases on PC on October 23 through Steam. Activision, Infinity Ward, and Call of Duty PC lead developer Beenox have shared the official Modern Warfare 4 PC trailer alongside new technical details. The update follows the Modern Warfare 4 campaign trailer that debuted at Tokyo Game Show, and the new Warzone Season 1 Operator Skin toggle adds another customization layer for players.

Beenox says the PC version includes more than 800 customization options across graphics, gameplay, input devices, interface, and more. Supported upscaling and frame generation technologies include AMD FSR Redstone, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, Intel XeSS 3, and Filmic SMAA T2X. The PC version targets 90 FPS at Recommended Specs and supports ray tracing in Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ.

PC Tech and Anti-Cheat Protections

Enhanced FOV is exclusive to PC and uses physically accurate lens effects to widen the field of view near the edges of the monitor without affecting the center FOV. Weapon Bloom has been reworked so bullets fire based on the weapon’s barrel position for more precise aiming, and a Laser Attachment can be equipped to show where shots travel. Advanced Shader Delivery, previously known as Shader Preloading, delivers precompiled shaders ahead of time so the game launches faster.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat is a multi-layered system combining server-side detections, hardware-based protections requiring TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot integration, investigations, and legal action. Account security includes 2FA and email verification.

Collateral Mode Targets Competitive Players

Beenox and Infinity Ward also detailed a new Multiplayer mode called Collateral, designed for Search and Destroy fans and competitive players. Teams alternate attacking and defending two bomb sites, everyone starts with a Pistol, and players earn in-game cash to spend on upgrades between rounds. Dying loses your loadout but money is kept between rounds. Respawns, Killstreaks, automatic health regeneration, and custom loadouts are disabled.

Preload, Early Access, and PC Requirements

PC preloading begins October 15 at 9AM PT. Players who pre-order get Campaign Early Access starting October 16. The full game releases October 23 at midnight local time. Pre-ordering grants the Hunter Killer Operator Pack and the Gilded Pearl Camo Pack. The Vault Edition adds the Hostile Alliance and Special Forces Operator Packs, the Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell, and a DMZ Deployment Bonus.

Minimum specs require Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i5-6600, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon RX 470 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/1060, and a 115GB SSD.
