Amplitude Studios has set the first Humankind 2 gameplay reveal for October 15. The stream will show the historical turn-based strategy sequel in action and offer a first look at some of the new features, improvements, and experiences players can expect ahead of its 2027 launch. The studio shared the news through the HUMANKIND Steam community hub on October 10.

When and where to watch

The reveal airs on the Humankind YouTube channel at 15:00 CEST, which is 9:00 AM EDT, 6:00 AM PDT, and 21:00 CST. Since announcing the game in August, Amplitude Studios said it has been delighted by the community’s enthusiasm, reactions, and passion for the franchise across its channels.

A historical 4X sequel

Humankind 2 is the studio’s second historical turn-based strategy game. Players lead their people through history from ancient times to the Modern Age, develop cities and an empire, trade with neighbors, and experience a unique cultural journey shaped by ancestral heritage and environment. The sequel lands in a crowded historical strategy field. GamerHeadlines reported that Civilization 7 was recently half off and free to play for a week on Steam. Paradox’s Stellaris recently shipped its 4.5 Cygnus update with more than 350 fixes.

Insiders Program closes October 20

Amplitude Studios is also promoting its Insiders Program, which lets dedicated players experience Humankind 2 ahead of release and share feedback directly with the team. Players can apply before October 20 to be considered for the first wave, and invitations will be sent before the start of that testing wave.

Applicants need an Amplifiers account and must be comfortable communicating in English. Selected participants receive an invitation to the Insiders Program Discord server, access to dedicated channels on Amplifiers, and a unique one-time-use Steam key granting access to a testing build. The studio said the program helps it gather feedback from passionate players early and gain deeper insight into how the game’s systems come together over longer play sessions. Some aspects of strategy games, such as pacing, balance, and progression, can only be properly evaluated after spending significant time with the game. Community feedback played an important role in the original Humankind’s post-launch development and helped lay the foundation for ideas and improvements in the sequel.
