Gaijin Entertainment has published the patch notes for War Thunder update 2.59.0.62 through the game’s official Steam community page on October 12, 2026. The patch covers cockpit audio behavior, new voice work for Indonesian ground vehicle crews, a replacement engine sound for the Harimau, additional bombing bases in Air Superiority missions, a graphics fix for ship gun effects, and a client stability fix. The developer notes that the patch notes reflect only key changes and may not include a complete list of all improvements.

Cockpit and ground vehicle audio

When a player opens the aircraft or helicopter cockpit in flight, the sound of the rushing airflow now drowns out all other sounds, such as engines and missiles. Previously, this effect was controlled by the player’s engine volume slider. With the update, the airflow audio is no longer tied to that slider, and the change applies to both aircraft and helicopter cockpits while in flight.

Indonesian ground vehicle crews received their own voice-over in update 2.59.0.62. The Harimau engine sound has been replaced with a better fitting one, according to the patch notes.

Bombing bases in Air Superiority

Bombing bases have been added to the “Air Superiority” missions on the following maps: Britain, Kursk, Malta, Mozdok, Stalingrad (Winter), Vietnam, and Smolensk. Before this update, the mode on these maps did not include bombing bases, so the change adds a new objective element to Air Superiority matches across those seven locations.

Graphics and client stability fixes

Gaijin Entertainment fixed an issue where the foam and spray effect beneath firing ship guns was displayed incorrectly. The patch also fixes a possible cause of an issue where the game client could freeze after switching from another window via Alt+Tab. That freeze was tracked through the game’s bug reporting service, and the developer says fixes are implemented in order of importance, with game-breaking bugs handled first. Gaijin also notes that War Thunder is updated constantly and that some changes do not require a client update.

Gaijin has also opened the Lightfooted screenshot competition this week, and recently wrapped up a test of the updated Southeastern City map for the Nuclear Escalation mode.
