Funcom is bringing two of its open-world survival games to PlayStation 5 in early 2027. The company confirmed the plans in the official PlayStation Blog announcement published on October 27, 2026. Aloft, the cloud-based co-op sandbox from Astrolabe, will make its console debut. Conan Exiles Enhanced will arrive as a free upgrade for everyone who already owns Conan Exiles on PlayStation. Neither game received a specific release date or price in the announcement.
The reveal follows Funcom’s launch of Dune: Awakening on PlayStation 5. The publisher is now adding two more survival games to its console slate, and both titles are wishlistable on the PlayStation Store now. Funcom said it will share release dates and additional details later. Conan Exiles Enhanced returns to the brutal Exiled Lands with a sharper presentation and a new narrative arc.
Aloft: A Cloud Sandbox Makes Its Console Debut
Aloft was developed by Astrolabe, a team that grew from a small group of friends over six years of development, and Funcom is publishing the PlayStation 5 version.
The PS5 release will include all updates that arrived during the game’s PC Early Access period, plus the 1.0 experience with its new content, stories, and improvements. Since the Early Access launch, Aloft received five major content updates. Those updates covered new wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customization, and expanded exploration.
In Aloft, players can turn floating islands into skyships, build a home among the clouds, and explore a colorful open world alone or with friends. The gameplay loop also asks players to discover lost knowledge, cure fungal corruption, care for animals, brave hurricanes, and restore the ecosystem. Aloft’s survival loop is gentler than the genre’s combat-heavy norm, built around exploration, building, and restoring the floating islands’ ecosystem with hurricanes as the main environmental threat.
Conan Exiles Enhanced: Free for Current PlayStation Owners
Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming to PS5, and every player who owns Conan Exiles on PlayStation will get the Enhanced version free. Both the PS4 and PS5 versions will be sold, and buying one version grants the other free. No limited-time condition was attached to the free upgrade.
Current players also keep their existing content. Purchased Bazaar items and DLC will carry over from PS4 to PS5. A player who has spent money on Conan Exiles expansions or Bazaar items will not need to rebuy those unlocks to use them in the Enhanced edition. The carryover keeps the game’s live-service purchases attached to a player’s account across the console transition.
The Enhanced edition brings improved environments, characters, lighting, and effects. Funcom also lists a redesigned UI and performance and quality-of-life improvements. The update is intended to make exploring the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion a more seamless experience.
Isle of Siptah remains a separate purchase. The Enhanced edition improves the game for players who own that expansion, but the announcement does not bundle Isle of Siptah into the free PS5 upgrade.
Legacy of the Giant-Kings Story Arc Included at Launch
The console launch of Conan Exiles Enhanced will include the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc from day one. Funcom said players will be able to uncover the mysteries of the ancient Giant-Kings, explore their forgotten legacy through new challenges, discoveries, and rewards.
Two Different Console Paths
Conan Exiles is already on PlayStation, so the Enhanced edition upgrades an existing player base. Aloft has never been on console, so its PS5 release is a fresh debut built from six years of PC development. Both follow Dune: Awakening, Funcom’s open-world survival game that is already live on PS5, giving the publisher three open-world survival games on the platform.
Conan Exiles owners move to the PS5 version without paying again or losing purchases. Aloft players get the entire Early Access history plus the 1.0 in a single console launch, with no staggered rollout to wait through. Aloft joins a survival-crafting space on PlayStation that already includes ARK: Survival Ascended.
